Sakamoto uses a technique called the “scratch” to draw his artwork. After painting various colors on the panel with crayons, he paints the whole area with black gesso and scrapes off the crayons. Then, the bright colors are appeared on the surface.
This artwork are drawn to be scraped by stem brushes, spoons and forks.
He takes on everything with faithfully.
This work is called “Jagged,” but Sakamoto says that he painted it gently. If you look closely, you will find a lot of circles on it.
